We invite all capoeira-aficionados - and those who want to become so - to Watutsis 3rd Capoeira event. Diversified training on all levels mixed with exchange and culture. And child-care-service.

Afrobrazilian capoeira is a fascinating interaction of fluid movements with defence and attack, singing, music and psychological tricks. Since its foundation 400 years ago it is traditionally dominated by males. At Capoeira for All the majority of the teachers will be women, the men make the music and play with the children. We teach both styles of capoeira and in order to recove we invite youbto various other arts of movements.

For our youngsters we offer creative activities like tinkering and crayoning and other sports like basketball, break dance and ´futebol brasileiro´ in addition to capoeira.This year we focus on the African roots of capoeira and honour Queen Nzinga - pronounce "Dschinga". Today the basic step of capoeira still reminds on her. We dedicate a presentation, the classes of Maculelé which is the dance of her warriors, and a stage performance to her.

Watutsi – born in Bahia and since his childhood is specialised on afrobrazilian culture and percussion. He is a master of Capoeira and received the african name Tata King N’Golo many years ago.

PROGRAMME:

Inscription, opening session with a presentation about Nzinga, music and interaction.

• Saturday 13.9.2008, 10 am-6 pm

Capoeira-Training with music, singing and rodas with different capoeira teacher as well as Afrodance, Flamenco and Pilates 8pm-10 pm cultural programme with performance, dance and music

• Sunday 14.9.2008, 10 am-4 pm
