A: Our group here started in 2000.

Q: I've never done any martial arts or gymnastics. Can I do capoeira?
A: Capoeira is for all types of people. Everybody brings in different skills and backgrounds, but you don't need to be in great shape to try capoeira and you don't need any particular skills. Capoeira is for everyone.Capoeira is an art to be enjoyed by everyone, despite their age and/or physical abilities. Come along and give it a try! What have you got to lose?

Q: Am I too old/young to play capoeira?
A: At present we do not have a designated childrens class and we usually do not teach anyone under 6 years old. Apart from that everyone is welcome at the classes, despite your age. There are people still playing capoeira well into their 70's, 80's and 90's!

Q: Do I have to bring any special shoes or clothes?
A: You can train simply with a t-shirt, sport loose trousers and trainers. Some students play capoeira bare foot (it is totally up to you). We have uniform available for purchase.

Q: How many classes can I do a week?
A: As many as you want, or you body can handle. We recommend starting slowly with one or two classes per week and gradually build up the number of classes you attend.

Q: What else should I bring along to a class?

A: We highly recommend bringing a bottle of water and a towel. Capoeira can be hard work and you need to replace fluids.

Q:  I have a past injury. Can I still practise Capoeira?
A: Please inform the instructor of any injuries you may have so that they can help you to overcome any difficulties and to ensure that you do not injure yourself any further.
